Kom Ombo Temple

Kom Ombo Temple is an ancient Egyptian temple located on the banks of the Nile near the town of Kom Ombo, about 50 kilometers north of Aswan. Built during the Ptolemaic period, around 180-47 BCE, the temple is unique because it is dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god associated with fertility and the Nile, and Horus the Elder, the falcon-headed god of the sky.

The temple's distinctive double design features two symmetrical halves, each with its own sanctuaries and halls. The walls are adorned with intricate reliefs depicting various scenes, including medical instruments and rituals related to the gods.
